In our environment we experienced that SNMP-traps were processed with a delay of up to 25 minutes, in tcpdump we could see that the traps were received but it took up to 25 minutes before snmptrapd processed them. It turned out that this was caused bij dns-lookups by snmptrapd.
Solution: Add -n to the sysconfig of snmptrapd. (/etc/sysconfig/snmptrapd)
